Laurel Brauns writes about outdoor adventures and music for publications including Northwest Travel, 1959 Magazine and Central Oregon Magazine. She specializes in paddle-based sports and has written articles about rafting the Grand Canyon, and kayaking in the San Juans, Glacier Bay, the Florida Keys, and Panama.
She often trades her paddle for a guitar, and has been performing professionally for over a decade. Her sound is best described as orchestral folk with a Celtic influence, and many of her songs pay homage to her adventures on the river and out at sea. Her background as a musician has given her a specific sensitivity to the work of other artists and she enjoys the opportunity to learn about other creatives.
